      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>About me: I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as well as a Classical Guitarist and Astrophotographer in the Chicagoland area. My passion for music, science, art, and technology plays an important role in my overall mental health and helps to inform my therapeutic practice. My passion is to help creatives realize their true potential by fostering a kind and nurturing environment and collaborative space. My approach is a holistic one, as every soul I encounter is unique in their own way. I utilize narrative, existential, and dialectical behavioral therapeutic modalities in an effort to address depression, anxiety, and creative blocks. I am also trained in EMDR and Brainspotting which both work to address past and present trauma. I am committed to providing a safe and inclusive space for all genders, races, sexual orientations, ethnicities, disabilities and religions. Currently serving Illinois residents. I look forward to working with you to push the boundaries of your creative expression, help you find passion and purpose through your art, and ultimately more satisfaction in life. <image:title>Trauma Recovery - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)</image:title>
<image:caption>EMDR will enable you to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. In session, you will be asked to recall distressing images. You will then be directed in one type of bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movement or tapping either side of the body. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. EMDR therapy demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs with mental processes. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Trauma Recovery - Brainspotting</image:title>
<image:caption>Brainspotting (BSP) will help you access, process and overcome challenges such as trauma, difficult emotions, grief, anxiety and feeling stuck. BSP is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. BSP is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with bilateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful. BSP incorporates the mind, body, mindfulness tools and eye position to assist in creating change. Through BSP we can reprocess negative events and retrain emotional reactions. BSP is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other behavioral conditions. It can also be used with performance and creativity enhancement.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Explore new avenues of connection to you and your inner creative forces. This type of work with me is perfect for actors, writers, dancers, musicians, and performance artists of all sorts. The confidence you will gain in therapy will follow you and let your artistic expression blossom. One of the modalities of my holistic approach is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)…a practice that will help you develop four sets of skills: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Writer’s block, performance anxiety, and ambivalence towards practicing are just a handful of the areas that will be addressed using DBT, as well as a number of other treatment styles specifically tailored to you.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Mindfulness - Mindful Meditation</image:title>
<image:caption>The practice of dedicating time to develop quality of mind or heart, often in silence. Though often done in sitting practice, meditation may also be done while walking, eating or working on your craft. The key is to make mindfulness and meditation a priority at the beginning of your day, or setting a calendar reminder to practice in the afternoon or evening.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Mindfulness - In the Moment</image:title>
<image:caption>Resting in the moment is the first step in bringing your attention to whatever is happening here and now, whether it’s a difficult emotion, a random thought, or simply your breath. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we're sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.</image:caption>
